Most standard dies have a thread size of 7/8-14. Lee dies for the 577 Snider and 577-450 Martini are 1 1/4-12 thus require a press with a larger thread. Most presses support both thread sizes by using a removable threaded insert. Some smaller presses do not have this feature.
The RCBS Summit Press is designed so it can be mounted anywhere on a bench whereas most presses require mounting on the edge of a bench.
