Forster Datum Dial Kit – DDKIT

We are very pleased to be able to offer the Forster Datum Dial Kit.  This product was introduced to us by a shooting professional who was loading ammunition for several different calibre rifles and wanted a single tool that would help him measure various different types of ammunition.  The Forster Datum Dial Kit has been designed to measure various dimensions on unloaded and loaded cases, such as case head to shoulder, overall length to bullet ogive, and shoulder to bullet ogive.  The kit comes complete with the required pieces to support virtually any calibre up to 338.  This tool is used in conjunction with a digital caliper.

This complete kit includes one Datum Body for checking cartridge cases, Both bullet/Cartridge dials for use with 17 cal, 204, 224, 243, 257, 264, 277, 284, 308, and 338 bullets, laminated chart showing common datum diameters, instructions and hard plastic storage box. (A caliper is required.)

The tool provides a relative measurement between the base of a case to a datum point on its shoulder angle. It may be used after sizing operations to find the optimal headspace for your firearm and after sizing operations to check the setup and consistency of your reloading process.

As you would expect with all Forster tools, every component is accurately machined and nicely finished.  These tools are very precise and would allow teams to ‘share’ measurements across their members, which cannot be expected from many other brands.
