K+M Primer Seater

The K+M Primer Seater is designed for those who like to seat primers by ‘feel’, and provides maximum feedback to the user.  This method of seating primers was originally developed for bench rest shooters but has been widely adopted by other shooting disciplines due to the superb accuracy that it offers.  The K+M Primer Seater comes with the necessary pieces to seat both large rifle and small rifle primers.  The K+M uses the commonly available Lee Auto Prime Shell Holder and can be adapted to accommodate virtually any calibre.

A primer is dropped into a recess in the tool.  Then a case is placed inside the shell holder and then ‘locked’ firmly in place by rotating the locking collar at the top of the priming tool.  This locking action ensures that primers will be seated squarely and concentrically in the primer pocket.  The tool handle is then given a firm squeeze until the primer bottoms out in the pocket.  Seating by feel helps overcome variations in primer pocket depth and can lead to more reliable ignition hence greater accuracy.
