This package includes the MEC Marksman Reloading Press, the Press Mount Part No. 1311150. The Press Mount adds a great deal of utility and usability to the MEC Marksman Press by raising it above the bench.
The MEC Marksman has been around for a few years now and has recently become extremely popular with precision shooters. The main reasons for the popularity of the press are the enhanced ergonomics afforded by the raised factory mount, the ambidextrous handle, and the fact that the C style frame is set back allowing free access to the cartridge case from both the left and the right sides. The press is also highly praised for its smooth operation, and the tight tolerances.
There is also the benefit of the ‘floating’ shell holder design that is built into the press ram whereby the shell holder is held by a clip and allowed to float a few thousands of an inch. This allow the cartridge case to ‘self centre’ and align with the die being used and hence minimize cartridge run out. It is very solidly built out of ductile iron and steel, weighing in at 8.2 kilos.
MEC has been around since 1955 and has specialised in shotgun reloading until recently. This press has 7/8 – 14 threads with a removable insert for larger 1 1/4 – 12 dies. The press is suitable for cartridges up to the 416 Rigby class.
