The RCBS Flash Hole Deburring Tool removes burrs from new cases. These burrs commonly occur during case manufacture as the flash hole is punched out. Sometimes these small pieces of brass do not completely detach from the inside of the case. Primer Pockets in Lapua, Peterson, and other high end cases are drilled and don’t require this operation, but the majority of other common brands are all punched for manufacturing simplicity.
Set up the tool by adjusting the stop to the required depth of cut. Not much metal needs to be removed as you are just trying to take off any rough edges left from the punching operation.
Usually a single clockwise twist of the wrist is all it takes to deburr the inside of a flash hole. This operation only needs to be done once and is usually performed before the first loading of new cases.
The RCBS Flash Hole Deburring Tool comes with a calibre specific pilot that helps keep the tool aligned properly with the case neck. This tool is sized for .30 Calibre
