The RCBS Neck Die is intended for reloading the 303 British cartridge. The Die will only resize the case neck area and remove the old primer, leaving the rest of the case dimensions as fired.
Only the neck of the cartridge case is sized to create the tension necessary to seat the bullet, and the body of the case is left to the dimensions of the chamber. This resulsts in much less working of the brass than full length resizing, which leads to longer case life.
Some wartime 303 chambers are oversized, and running a fired case through a modern SAAMI spec full length sizing die can seriously reduce case life. This die is intended to neck size brass to reload for the bolt action rifle that it was originally fired in.
Please make sure you give them a thorough cleaning before initial use to remove the rust preservative applied at the factory. RCBS has set the standard in affordable, quality reloading equipment.
