Sierra 9390C 80 Grain .224 Diameter HPBT MatchKing 500 Count Box

The 22 calibre 80 grain MatchKing was created in response to the increasing demands of Long Range shooters. With the success of the AR-15/M16 style rifles in Long Range competition, the need was felt to maximize the ballistic potential of these rifles. The 80 grain MatchKing was designed to be the best possible bullet for the Long Range competitor using an AR 15 Style rifle and magazine.  Designed specifically for the .223 Remington / 5.56x45mm cartridge, the 80 MatchKing is at equally at home in both Match and Service Rifles. Due to the inherent requirements for a bullet of this type, the 80 grain MatchKing is intended to be fed from a magazine.

Sierra recommends a 8” twist barrel for the 92390 22 calibre 80 gr HPBT bullet when pushed at muzzle velocities lower than 2650 fps.  A 1 in 7″ twist would be better.

Sierra claim a G1 Ballistic Coefficient of .461 @ 2100 fps and above .453 between 1750 and 2100 fps .420 @ 1750 fps and below.
